[Premium-Rx] WJ 8716 manual

Hello Y'all:

I have a  WJ 8716 which seems a little deaf. I will turn it over to a Ham who has the test equipment to run a sensitivity test on it.

A 1 inch-thick ' Operating & Service Manual '  came with it, titled  ' Watkins-Johnson  WJ 8716 / 8718 HF Communications Receiver '.  Once inside the manual there is not another word said about WJ 8716. All reference is to the WJ 8718. 

Are the 8716/18 so similar circuit-wise that this one manual suffices for both ?
