I tend to agree here.

I have a HF1000/8711 and 8712. 

My prefered listening tool is certainly the RA6790/GM over those for weak signal
resolution (if we don't talk about any other receivers at the moment). 

But the 6790 doesn't do things that the others will do.

By the way, I hate the 8712 because it doesn't have anything to physically
twiddle with, and I will be parting with it shortly.
