I second that opinion.  I had a Z3801 and a Trimble Thunderbolt running at 
the same time.  I just sold the Z3801 because the Thunderbolt beat it hands 
down.  The software is free, you can download it from Trimble.  They run on 
24 VDC and draw much less current the HP units.  It's about the size of two 
3-1/2 hard drives stacked on each other.  Very nice units.  I found mine 
for $140 on eBay, probably because they are not well known units... yet.
