[Premium-Rx] Mackay 5050

I saw a Mackay 5050 on Ebay recently and unfortunately the auction ended early so no idea what it actually sold for but I have been lusting after one of these for a long time even though I do not have any idea whether they are good or not. I to would like to hear from any members that have first hand experience with this receiver. I also think there is a similar transceiver but do not know how close the receiver and transceiver are to each other electrically, the transceiver does not have a tuning knob. 
 
There is a company out of Tennesee that claims to have Mackay radios and spares and frequently buys and sells newer Mackay equipment on Ebay, keep your eyes open and you can probably catch one of their auctions so that you can get their contact info, they may have the expertise to answer some of your questions.
