[Premium-Rx] Proposed Policy Change for the Premium-Rx List

I'd vote for not discriminating against eBay ads. The practice seems arbitrary (what's so evil about eBay, vis-a-vis any other means of individual-to-individual trading? The fact that eBay gets a cut of the sale?) IMHO we should either leave the previous noncommercial policy in place, or open it to all venues on a nondiscriminatory basis.

Spam from commercial sellers has never been a problem on this list, thanks to the tireless vetting of new members by the management. :)

Of course, tasteless and gratuitous marketing practices (L@@K! RARE! HF 2050 PARTS! ONLY 9 HOURS LEFT!!!!11!!! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3059373662) are to be discouraged with all the wrath of the Wouff Hong. (Ahem.)

It is usually pretty obvious if a member has signed up only to hawk his/her wares, on eBay or otherwise. That problem can be dealt with when it happens, in my opinion. Like other members who have spoken up, I would have missed seeing some neat stuff without the occasional eBay lead in the list. eBay's search engine is no good for stuff you didn't know you wanted!
