Fellow Members:

Geoff Bunza, located in Portland, Oregon, has joined the List.  Geoff, a father of two sons (both in college at present) is an electronics/systems engineer with 28 years of design and design management experience, starting with computer design for Digital Equipment Corp, Automatic Test Systems design for GenRad, Design Automation Systems for Mentor Graphics, Eagle Design Automation, Viewlogic Systems, and Synopsys.

His interest in receivers started in high school with some military VHF and HF receivers.  This was also the start of his collection and hobby of restoring old "green" electronics.  Currently he has a Harris RF-590, RF-5000 and a Motorola LST-5.

His present challenge is trying to interface the RF-590 without documentation of the software side of the serial interface.  Surely we have some 590 drivers who can share some hints on this challenge!
