Hey, Barry.  Ever the chemist.  I've seen the MFP on a lot of military 
gear.  Now I know what it means.

On the WJ it means "Microprocessor Front Panel."  It is an option that 
radically alters the appearance and ergonomics of operating the radio.  The 
plain WJ-8718A is pretty boring.  The MFP adds memories (99), scan, search, 
keypad entry.  It's my favorite HF radio.
