[Premium-Rx] Racal 1792

Hi

I'd like to thanks everyone for the extremely useful info
on the Racal 1792 that was for auction here in NZ.

The intermittent fault in this receiver had turned "permanent"
by the time I got to have a look at the set.

However, I ended up buying a very nice JRC NRD-515 off the
chap. Not in "premium receiver" land, but a nice receiver
IMHO.

Anyway, I asked the chap what he was now going to do with
the Racal and he said it was going in the trash!

Needless to say, I offered my trash can, and now have a
1792 sitting at home for the price of $0.00. It's in very
good cosmetic order, and has almost mint original Racal
service & operators manuals. At present the displays light
up, the speaker hisses, but I don't think it has any CPU
running. I see hours of frustrated tinkering ahead :-)

Thanks for all your comments - I was going to give the
set a miss, but for free I couldn't really say no!
