Dennis Kidder, WA6NIA, from Long Beach, California has joined our membership.
Dennis is a systems engineer for Raytheon, working on the development of
military air traffic control and air defense systems.
His interest in radio started in 1969 just a few years before he entered his
career in engineering. Since then he has collected receivers, passing through
the R-390, and 390A windows, and finally arriving at the Rockwell-Collins
HF-2050 approximately one year ago.
In addition to the above, he has a Dero Model 2F which is a clone of the
Hammarlund SP-600-L, the VLF version of the SP-600-J. If any one can assist him
in finding some information on this receiver he would like to hear from you.
He spends his time playing at 10 GHz and up, specifically microwave radio and
moonbounce. He operates on 10 and 24 GHz narrowband and will soon be adding
47 and 76 GHz to his list. He has worked five countries on moon bounce (EME).
Please welcome Dennis to our membership at: wa6nia at arrl.net

Welcome Dennis,
Here is a website that has some good pics of a Dero 2F variant of the
Hammarlund SP-600 VLF unit. I have absolutely no information regarding this SP-600
variant, other than they are not uncommon. I have run many, many searches
regarding Dero and come up with nothing. I know that that area of Long Island, NY
was a hotbed of defense electronics contractors in that era.
