All three grades of Novus polish are also available via mail/website order
from Antique Electronic Supply at http://www.tubesandmore.com/. I, too, have
used it for several years, and it works. Get all three grades - usually it
is necessary to work up through all three to get a really nice clear finish.
I've never seen it at Wally World, but you never know. I believe they also
sell all the versions of Caig DeOxit, which you should also buy if you don't
keep it around. If you have older receivers and therefore have to deal with
gummy gear trains and sticky shafts, stop by your friendly local gun store
and buy a large can of Birchwood Casey Gun Scrubber. It is an outstanding
degreaser/cleaner that works instantly and leaves NO residue. Use it outside
only, though, breathing it is a bad idea. It will also instantly eat some
plastics, so do a test dab first. Lastly, for removing that nasty label
residue from cabinets and front panels, (and latex paint drips, etc.) Ace
Hardware sells a couple of versions of a product called Goof-Off. Do a test
dab first, but this stuff is great if you are careful with it. I have
scrubbed a couple of HP test equipment cabinets with Goof Off using a small
stiff vegetable brush (hey, she can buy another one) and they came out like
absolutely new. Gotta love those chemical manufacturers. Like always, read
the labels and follow the directions.
