Guys,
Here is a possible excuse for why the 2282A is so expensive.
If my memory is correct, this receiver has a sync detector (might be an
option, I'm not sure) for digital data reception; it locks onto the carrier
with a Costas Loop. This is really cool for receiving BPSK, QPSK, QAM etc.
We use comparable receivers at work, some from Microdyne. They are also
very expensive.
Of course, these days you can do all that for free with a soundcard!
