So now im the guy who has removed his membrane from my 3030a .. and I did it with out damage.. it seemed to have been held on by double sided tape.. the big problem is as we know it becomes de-laminated in the center section, but the perimeter was very secure, I used a .0025 hardened steel pin and rolled it around the edge and no problems as long as you go slow. I should have waited.. but all things considered, and the great fix that John has made.. I would still sooner or later want to replace these bubbly key pads.. and of course I still am missing #2 receiver audio output.. but that will happen.. I still have most of the front panel in " SEVERAL " parts.. and yes john is correct .. the cap is held in by some bad ass epoxy based something..
I had to work on getting this shack closer to finish out most of the day.. but will try and call Grayhill later in the day Tuesday..

this has been a great thread on our 3030s .. I have enjoyed it all .. thanx guys mac/mc w5mc
