Absolutely no joy here with my now departed SS-IBS.  Front end required an 
absolutely 50 ohm antenna or it was deaf as a stump, and living 1.5 miles
from a 
50 kw 1000 khz station, with the IBS having a 1000 khz IF, was enough to 
drive any crazy radio guy sane :)

I'm sure a great balanced 7360 front end would be fun and work well, but 
doubt there is any need to copy SS's design to get there, lots of other good

circuits around.

As for me, I'm looking at push pull 6V6's for the back end of the premium 
stuff...
