[Premium-Rx] A suggestion for the list

Hi

When you open up nominations and discussion to the floor, you're likely to find several instances where a receiver that's loved by some is hated by others.

I think Greg has used good discretion over the years - we don't have the urination contests that plague usenet newsgroups.

But perhaps we should look at this from a different perspective.

Instead of limiting the list to specific models, it might make sense to adjust qualifications to solid state digital display receivers of certain named brands, specific exceptional models of other brands, and the good judgment of whoever is screening the
applicants at the time.

Brands I'd suggest for the blanket "if it's solid state and digital it's in" list include Applied Communications/Norlin, Collins, Cubic, Harris, Mackay, Racal, R&S, Skanti, & Watkins Johnson.

I've probably missed some worthy manufacturers.

Regardless of what you might think about a specific model of any of those makers, odds are Premium RX is the best place to find thoughtful discussion about them.

Retaining the option of identifying specific radios that aren't otherwise included covers anything that's already on the list, and allows for additions where perhaps only one or two models of a manufacturer would qualify.

Regards,

Mark
