At the other end of the spectrum is my premium home brew 
RX with its guts hanging out of the chassis for easy access
to modification. Me, I like to hold women more than receivers.   fc

following the discussion about "premium" or not, i strongly request that the
BEAUTY of a receiver is a "qualifying criteria", too!

Have  you  ever  thought  about,  what  a  woman  feels,  seeing a receiver,
sometimes in a big competition to herself.

The  most  BEAUTIFULL  receiver  for  many ladies i talked about, is the R&S
EK070,  to  me  the RX with most "charme", so to say an erotic touch, is the
WJ-8712P,  i LOVE to hold tight and keep ..., i really like to get that one,
just decided by picture ...

Serious,  my  rating  is,  SURE  my R&S EK896-dsp is the very BEST receiver,
followed  by  the  AEG/Telefunken  E1800/3  (which  has the incredible IP3 >
+43dBm  without  any  preselector),  then i would see the RF590 covered with
options  and  the  VERY  BEST mixture of the newly designed receivers is the
KNEISSNER  &  DOERING  KWZ-30dsp, performance, dsp-usage, frontend, lo-noise
..... allover great.
