I am co-moderator of another list and we have a web site with lots (> 100 MB, I
think) of manuals and other info. They are all  password protected pdfs.
Individual passwords are available free upon request to list members. This
assures that someone doesn't just download the whole site and publish a CD. The
scanning is a distributed, effort.
