   HI,
Kind of like the battery box in a car. Love those new sealed Die Hards. That
is why I prefer
to move them right off the board. fc

Subject: Re: [Premium-Rx] Ni Cad Battery Corrosion

As a further comment on this I've noticed that corrosion in many instances
seems to be much further away from the battery itself than normal fluid
leakage would suggest.
In fact, unlike with leaking zinc carbon primary cells I don't recall seeing
any obvious fluid leakage from a Ni-Cad.
There is certainly a discharge, usually with a crystalline build up around
the positive end of the cell, but I suspect that it may be corrosive gassing
that causes most of the trouble.
Can anyone confirm this, or put me straight if I'm wrong?
regards
Nigel Clarke
