Bob,
One excellent way to use home satellite dishes that are no longer needed for
that purpose:
1. Cover the concave dish area with aluminum foil or aluminum tape to make
it reflective
2. Mount a grate in place of the LNB (which is the focal point of the dish)
3. If possible, put the dish onto a support that can be turned toward the
sun
4. Place a cooking pan or pot on the grate
5. Let the energy of the sun cook your meal or boil your water, such as for
coffee
6. Be careful, because a properly-oriented reflective solar oven can become
very hot very quickly!

We have unplugged from DirecTV so I took the satellite dish down from the
house.
I don't have a use for it, so I am happy to give it away rather than put it
in the trash.
I can send you a photo (the PPRAA reflector rejected it).
What would you use this for? I dunno, but here are some ideas:
* Replace your old DirecTV dish
* Have a second dish for your DirecTV system
* Build a 2m slot antenna (disquise antenna to circumvent HOA rules) See
https://w6nbc.com/articles/20xx-dishslot.pdf (thanks, WD0AJG)
* Use the dish for the microwave bands, maybe 10 GHz

Let me know if you want this dish, else it will go into the trash.
