[PPRAANet] Work Day Results

Hi Guys,
At the work day today (7/30/2015) we were able to accomplish several things.
1.  We erected a 2 meter/70 centimeter J-pole antenna.  it is about 22' up to the antenna base.  Coax was brought in to the station.  We have promise of a 2 meter radio.  It will be useful for talk-in, repeaters, nets and ??????
2.  We laid out the first tower except for the base, including the hinge mechanism.  We also laid out guy wires.  With the fold over tower we will need four guys at two level per Rohn's manual on the tower.  It looks like by piecing together guy cables we will have enough guy wire for the first tower.  We will need hardware and insulators for that.
3.  We previewed the remaining Rohn 25G sections and it appears we have enough sections for another 50 foot tower minus guys, hardware, coax and etc.
4.  We previewed available yagi antennas for the towers and confirmed that the Cushcraft A3S is the best of the available yagi's for the first tower.
After the next workday, scheduled for 8/6/2015, I hope to have enough information to put together a listing for needed items to erect the first tower along with anticipated cost.  I'm working toward having it ready for the next board meeting on 8/10.  It will likely need to go to the club at the next regular meeting due to cost.
We have a slight setback with one of the rotors.  MJF (Hy-Gain) has back ordered a needed part for 2-4 weeks.  We are looking at work around's.
