[PPRAANet] Silly Antenna question

Good afternoon everyone,

I have a question that I think I know the answer to but to have someone else tell me would make me feel better. I have recently acquired a Cushcraft MA-5B, my first HF yagi, I want to put it on the roof, the problem being my home is 31' tall and I am not allowed to go any higher than 35' AGL with an antenna. 4 feet is just not enough room to be away from the shingles, to not have a very severe effect on SWR or performance correct? Should I just put this back in the box until I get the money to go to the town and fight for a tower, and just keep using the G5RV strung in the yard. 
I am pretty sure of my answer but sometimes I just need a good kick to get my brain staarted.
