Dick,
Your Wouxun programming cable should work on the Baofeng UV-5R.
I use the same cable on Wouxun radios and UV-5R.

Also, the Baofeng programming software is a free download.

I will warn you that the Baofeng software is a real piece of work.
A pain to get working but it eventually works.
