Good evening everyone
This is Dan, AC0CC, net coordinator for the Thursday night net.  At the
Monday Board meeting, the low turnout for the net was discussed and the
decision was made to suspend the Thursday net until June. At that time the
Board will determine what we can do to either increase participation or
permanently suspend the net until interest increases.  No one has stepped
forward to volunteer on any Thursday to be NCS and I can't do it alone since
my work schedule may prevent me from filling in like I have been doing.  Not
only are there no volunteers for NCS, but check-in's have dropped to less
than a handful, sometimes only one will check in.  We don't know if it is
due to the better weather, work schedules or lack of interest by local hams.
Like the old 220 mhz band, it is a case of use it or lose it.  We certainly
would like to see an active net, but it takes more than one or two hams to
make it a success.  We are open to suggestions, so please forward your
comments to boardmembers at ppraa.org .  I also would like to thank Ken and Jim
for their tireless support in the past on helping do the net.
