I'll second that, Dave.
Don made a presentation at the PPDXG meeting last Friday evening. It
was extremely interesting and informative about what goes into making a
trip like that and the expenses involved. The helicopter alone is $3000
per hour, and the chopper made 154 trips from the island to the ship and
back.
If you don't attend this meeting, you'll miss one of the best meetings
of the year.

Subject: [CMRG] Peter I Presentation this Wednesday
Hi all,
CMRG contributied the recent DXpedidtion to Peter I Island by
financially supporting Don DuBon, N6JRL. Don is the brother of
Cliff, N0ZUQ and the son of Dottie, KB0SHJ. Peter I is an
uninhabited island off the coast of Antartica and has only
been "radio active" two previous times. The hams of Colorado Springs
made a significant contribution to support Don, and as a way to
saying "Thank you," Don will be making a presentation on his
adventures at the PPRAA meeting this Wednesday. I understand the
presentation lasts about one hour and inculdes pictures and
PowerPoint graphics.
The meeting is held in the auditorium of the El Paso County Emergency
Services on South Union, across from the Veladrome (bicycle track).
The meeting will start at 7PM.
This will be a great opportunity to hear first hand what a DXpedition
is like and how it feels to be "on the other side" of a pile up.
Hope to see you there.
Dave, WA6IFI
