Hi to everyone,

It's time for your friendly reminder that the
PPRAA Simplex Net meets every Thursday at 7:00PM local
time on 146.58 MHZ. Alternate frequency is 146.55
should the primary be unavailable. You do not need to
be a member of the PPRAA to participate.

This week we conclude our series on soldering during
our tech talk. Next week on the net we will have our
Monthly Swapfest. Soon to come is third order
intercept point and electronic basics.

We will conclude the net with the ARRL Audio News.

As the summer storm season is upon us it seems prudent
to discuss options should there be a storm in the area
at net time. At the option of the NCS for a
particular net the net may be canceled with or without
notice. If conditions permit the NCS may or may not
make a short announcement near net time. If the net
does not happen and a storm is in the greater Colorado
Springs area consider it canceled because of the
storm. Remember, a severe storm in one part of the
area may not be severe in your area. Participate at
your discretion if severe weather is in your area.
Obviously, the reason for canceling would be so the
NCS operator would be away from his/her equipment in
case of a near or direct lightning strike.

If you have suggestions for the net or would like to
help with NCS duties or present a tech talk please
contact myself at ab0uk at yahoo.com or Patrick Kelly at
kc0mir at arrl.net or Jim Gifford at
jim.gifford at pcisys.net .

Jim, AB0UK
