[PPRAANet] free tower

Guys, I've been hesitating to respond to this since I have a number of
strikes against me, but I really AM interested in that tower since an
out & out gift like this is about the only way I'll ever be able to
afford one.
Strike one: I would certainly be willing to coordinate the effort to
get it down and transported, but I doubt I have the expertise to be the
lead person on the job. I have put up a ham tower before in Ecuador,
but I just sorta guessed my way through it and God's grace prevailed in
that I didn't kill myself doing it!
Strike two: I really don't know where to borrow the equipment such as
safety belt and gin pole.
Strike three: Since I haven't been able to participate in meetings
(although I've been a member of PPRAA for about three years now) I
really haven't had the pleasure of meeting many of you guys face-to-face
and thus don't feel that I could ask for a major slice of the help from
the group.
One other wrench in the works is that I will not be able do it until
around the first of August. (I won't call it "strike four!")
The positive part is that if the fellow wanting to give it away is
willing to wait until August, and someone could introduce me to an
"expert" who could teach and/or oversee me, then maybe we could make it
work.
I'll look forward to any responses or suggestions any of you might have.
Hey, thanks for helping me think through this!
73!

P.S. How much real-estate would you have to have to guy a 50 foot
tower???

I'm not ready for a tower yet, but would be willing to assist in
dismantling / transporting the tower in return for "tower knowledge".
You can contact me at [email protected].
