Skywarn spotters,
The National Weather Service office in Phoenix is in the process of
updating our spotter database. We would like to update any information
that may have changed since we last took down your information such as
address, primary and secondary phone numbers, nearest major
cross-streets, email address, etc. Also, we'd like to confirm the hours
you are available to accept a call from the NWS during a weather event.
Please feel free to call our spotter line at 1-800-697-0655 to make any
updates or just to confirm your information. You may also send an email
to austin.jamison at noaa.gov listing the information above so we can check
our database (even if there haven't been any changes). If you happen to
know the latitude and longitude of your home, please include that
information as well. If you have already been contacted by our office,
please disregard this message.
We hope to have some more spotter training classes before this year's
Monsoon. It is preferred to have individuals get training every other
year. Thus we encourage everyone that has not attended a training class
since 2007 to attend a class as it becomes available. When arrangements
are made for a class, we plan on sending an email, and posting the
information to our website...
