Hi Mark,
Don't know if you have heard yet, but there is going to be a CSEPP
Exercise involving the CSEPP counties of which Parke is one of the four, on
June 8, 2005. Part of this exercise is to communicate with the hams at the
EOC in each county. We at SEMA are trying to figure out how we are going to
communicate with the hams at the EOC's in Fountain, Parke, Vermillion, and
Vigo counties.
I am trying to find out what kind of ham gear there is at each EOC. What
kind of ham gear do you have at Parke County EOC?
Once we find out, we would like to do some radio testing long before the
Exercise takes place.
CSEPP stands for Chemical Stockpile Emergency Preparedness Program and
involves Newport Ammunitions Depot. The Federal Government will send
evaluators from around the U.S. for this exercise. About 3 weeks before the
exercise, there will be announcements on TV, Radio, and in the Newspapers
telling everyone that this is just a drill and not the real thing because
it will seem like the real thing when it happens on the 8th.
If you have only 2 meter equipment at the EOC, you might tell me what
repeater you can get into between you and Indianapolis. We think we can
reach out 60 miles with our 2 meter gear.

Do you know Dave Pifer N9YNF? He is trying to coordinate the exercise on
the remote ends.
