[PCR-1000] EEPROM? Very poor HF sensitivity

Hi Gang,

 

New to the group, John VE3KKQ.

 

Picked up a pcr1000 at recent flea market.

 

Seems deaf in HF, can receive FM broadcast OK.

 

I tune in WWV or CHU on my FT-857D, they are loud and clear, switch ant to
pcr1k and can just hear WWV in the noise.

 

Ran PCR1000BUR, result was 13% corrupt.

 

Any one got a compatible .dat file I can use?

 

Or an idea what may be wrong.

 

Do I now own an expensive paper weight?
