Grounding should be done to the outside water pipe, not the internal AC
plug. Mine is attached to a 1 inch thick busbar that runs the length of the
shack.
I run my PCR-1000 off of a regulated, linear, bench powersupply. First
thing I did was to toss that wall-wart.
You can also scramble the internal software if your receiver is close to a
fast computer, large CRT type (not LCD/Plasma) display/TV, or radio
transceiver.
I suspect that certain types of RF test equipment may also have negative
effects on the 1000.
I no longer use my 1000, as it has been replaced by a far superior,
broadband receiver that doesnt need a computer to operate.
