[PCR-1000] repair?

 Backup software came out within months of the pcr1000 introduction in 1996.
My first backups are dated right after I bought the unit in 1997. Generic
eproms are available online. Eproms vary only a little between units and I
have loaded numerous "generic" pcr1000 eproms into mine just to try them
out. All work, a few require a few mere keyboard strokes to fine tune.
So are you telling us that your pcr1000 has been on the shelf for ten years
even though it only takes five minutes to get it working... and you are
still a member of the PCR1000 mailing list after all those years even though
you hate ICOM and pcr1000's???
I use my pcr1000 for receiving weather satellite images directly from NOAA
polar orbiting sats because it has adjustable bandwidth filters for
satellite reception

As well as for normal Dx'ing and also scanning.
I can't find a Watkins-Johnson that has all that in one unit. Is there one,
if so is the price comparable?
