[PCR-1000] PCR1000BUR1v2 Explanation?

If I remember correctly, the author of the PCR1000BUR had many people
(including me) send in their EEPROM dumps.  He then took all of the
responces and averaged them together.
Then he added some logic that looked at the values in the users EEPROM and
gave a message if the deviated from what the average is.  If the values were
too far off it assumed they were set incorrectly and would give you a
message.

I ran the PCR1000BUR1v2 EEPROM backup program the other night to see how it
ran, and during the analysis option, said something like it recommended
running the averaging function (don't have it at work, can't recall exactly)
etc. etc.  I went through the entire QTH archive, and the only explanation
of this BUR activity was to a dead link.

Does anyone know what this averaging does?  Radio seems to work fine, and I
do have a backup as of when I got the PCR.  I know I can restore the EEPROM,
just curous what this averaging does.
