I bought a used PCR1000 which was seriously corrupted. The former user 
claimed he had only used ICOM's software ver 1. I also phoned an authorized 
ICOM workshop and got confirmed that corruption indeed could occur whit 
ICOM's software, typically when Windows crashed.
