  Let me say right off the bat....I'm not up on all the jargon re 
filters/specs/etc.
However I keep seeing you guy's talk about how hard it is to find 450kHz 
filters as opposed too the 455kHz filters.
  I did a search on that question,450kHz filters,& found quite a few links 
[see below for example].
It does not seem to be that hard at all too find the required filter. Am I 
missing something here?Will these 450kHz filters not work? Is the problem 
finding a filter with the required more narrow b/w?

  I certainly hope that they would as I would love too have a PCR1000 with 
a more narrow b/w filter choice & would not be opposed at all to having it 
re-worked if I could find a suitable choice.

Btw,someone asked what I thought about my R70.It's certainly stable as the 
Rock of Gibraltar & has great fine tune control,a must for digital ute 
decode.On the other hand,it's clunky too tune & is not well made for band 
searching.The way it's set up,remember it was made in the early 80's,it 
automatically changes freq when one changes from one mode to the other 
which can be quite aggravating.
  The way I generally use the R70 is, after I find {using the 535} a 
freq/mode I want to sit on I use the R70 for when I want to sit on that 
freq for long periods.

  Getting back to the PCR1000....I was most surprised at how stable it is 
re HF sigs.That's another big reason I want too have access to the more 
narrow filter.
