Hi Max,
This system of yours sounds wonderful. Perhaps you could consider
selling a kit of parts to do this? I'd certainly be interesting in
buying one - then I could DX at home while at work during my lunch
break!
I'd be very interested to learn more about this system.

Here's what I did recently, though it's probably overkill for you.
I wanted to remotely locate up to 4 PCR-1000s, and to be able to control
and
monitor them over the LAN (and thereby the Internet). Obviously, this
could
be done with a co-lo PC with a multi-channel sound card, but that's
expensive and inconvenient - much better to build something. So I made a
board with a PIC MCU with 8-channel ADC built in, added 100-baseTX
Ethernet,
and 4 serial ports - parts cost around (UK)=A325 plus getting the PCB
made.
The PIC runs a simple TCP server for control (might add an HTTP
interface
sometime, just to be cute ;o), and I have a server process running on an
under-used Win2000 box that streams in the PCM-encoded audio channels
over
UDP, applies MP3 compression, and optionally records to disk and/or
streams
out elsewhere on the network. The cabling is just 150m or so of CAT5 -
cheap
as chips!
I haven't done anything about general web streaming (I can access the
LAN
remotely using VPN), but I guess it would be easy enough to to do with
either IIS or Apache on Windows - or just roll your own if you're a
programmer.
BTW, I might be designing a cheap USB control + 2xPCM (8@11k) interface
for
a single PCR-1000 in a while, so if anyone's interested I'll put the
design
up and post a link.

Alright, here is the question for the group, maybe one of you will have
a
good answer... Currently I have a PCR-1000 that I want to put online for
control via the web for a select few friends and myself from work... Now
here are the quirks to this one.. I want to be able to accompish this
under
a windows environment verses using a linux based system.. I had the
PCR-1000
controllable via IRC for a while but I just got tired of dealing with
the
Linux Operating system (basicly this is the only reason I would have to
even
have a linux box so I dont want to take a computer out for just this) If
anyone knows of any way to accomplish this without having to spend more
money and without having to put my rig up for Javoradio.com...... Thanks
