  There's one thing,antenna-wise,that come's in real handy with wide-band 
radios like the pcr1000.It's called a "combiner" & allows for a hf antenna 
AND a uhf/vhf antenna to be combined to one jack.I use the RadioMaster 
AC-108.It allows me to connect my hf antenna,a Alpha-Delta SWL sloper,& my 
wide-band antenna,a Diamond D-130J discone antenna,to the pcr1000.It does 
away with having to dis-connect & re-connect antennas.It's a LOT cheaper 
than having different band multicouplers.A pic & discription of the

  There are other brands but most are more expensive & offer little difference.
