Brian,
I had the same result with ACARS as you.
And I'm seeing the same thing you are with speech.
But my sat signals are alot better.

John,
I'm thinking on trying to build a box that I can computer control to switch
the speaker output and the packet output depending on what the radio is
tuned to.
I currently use SatTune to tune the radio. It shouldn't be to hard to modify
it to control an unused signal on either the com port or a usb port to
handle control of the box.
This way, when it's tuned to a sat, The box will be routing the packet
output to the line-in port. When you decoding anything else, Or listening to
something like air traffic, The box will route the speaker output to the
line-in.

How would that be for hands off operation? ;)

hmmmm yet another weekend project. :)

Speech sounds very err clipped? Bad enough that I get off my butt and
switch back when scanning.
