[PCR-1000] Attic or roof mount?

Lets go one further,
How much difference is there between placing a QFH in the attic or on the
roof?
My problem lies in the fact that I don't want it to be seen from the street.
This means I will have to mount it on the slant on the back side of the
roof.
This also means I will have to build (or find) a tripod with offset legs.
But, If I mount it in the attic, I can hang it from the center of the roof
thus getting the most elevation.
But then again, If having it in the attic is going to cut down on the
signal, I'm going to be better off mounting it on the roof.
What have you guys found?

Has anyone placed a QFH antenna in an attic beneath a clay tile roof? I
really don't want to go to all the bother and itching if the clay tile
is going to effect the signal from NOAA birds.
Thanks
John
