[PCR-1000] packet output

Hello
I didn't mean to ask which output is better for satellites, that has been
hashed over a few times. My question is more basic..
What is the difference between the two ports. Someone wrote that the speaker
output is amplified, OK, what else, is that it? What makes the packet output
port specifically good for packet signals. I don't know much about packet,
what is different about the packet data from audio data? I have "heard"
packet data from satellites but I don't really know what it is other than a
digital information burst.
