should be big "makes"
try selecting correct input and turn up the record vol (not playback vol)

if on w2k you could
1.dblclick loudspkr on system tray
2.select menu/options/properties
3.click "adjust volume for recording" - ensure Line or Microphone are
selected as relevant
4.click ok
5.on Recording Control select "Line" or "Microphone" as relevant
6.turn up the volume. noise from your radio should be able to fill the
wxsat test graph else you have a prob with your sound
card/connections/drivers etc
7.adjust to suit. from wxsat help: The loudest signal peaks (i.e. largest
amplitudes) should easily reach the two gray lines but must not be clipped
at the upper or lower limit.

note this will make no difference to volume from speakers
try using windoze sound recorder as first trial.
