Yes... that all seems VERY familiar to me as well. I did not know anything
about the eeprom either... and just as you i found a "replacement" backup
and used it. Well, the radio works just fine, but i am thinking about
sending it
in for a "realignment". I mailed the reseller of the reciever here in
Sweden, and
they just told me to send the radio to them and they would do the
realignment
and replace the info in the eeprom (?). The price was/is abt. 600 SEK, that
is abt. 70 USD / 65 EUR... but i haven't done that yet.
And shipping, by the way, is not included :-)
