Bill, Here is another possibility: My PCR1K has only a mono output. If I plug my stereo headphones in I hear nothing. There is a position, however, with the plug partway inserted where it works fine. The proper solution is to buy or build a mono to stereo adaptor. I hope it's as simple as that. Bob
