Hi Chris...

I have looked at the DRM website and it looks like a good project though in=20
the long run there are too many regular AM SW radios already out there for=20
there to expect change very quickly...I would like to see it for Amateur=20
Radio use...

In the US, Commercial AM and FM stations are now able to dual broadcast on=20
their original frequency both Analog and Digital signals. This is called IBO=
C=20
(or In Band On Channel) and is offered through Ibequity with FCC support.

I'm afraid that the SW weaknesses of the PCR-1000 are front-end related and=20
that a change of mode will not solve it's "hearing" problems. =20

As an example...I have interest in listening to a local AM Broadcat station=20
on 1450 KHz which is not very strong in the evenings because of propagation.=
=20
I am unable to listen to it with the PCR-1000 and a 10/20 meter dipole but=20
with a 1970's 5 tube AC/DC Receiver (we call them All-American 5's here, the=
y=20
have no transformer and are/were most inexpensive) I am able to get a very=20
usable signal.  That is selectivity.

I have fun with my PCR-1000....but I feel it's orginal price was a lot of=20
money for what it is.....
