  You can also get RS-232 optoisolators to totally break the electrical
  contact between the radio and computer via the serial port.  Add a
  filtered AF isolation transformer on the return audio, and that
  should help a fair amount with electrical noise at RF frequencies.

  EM radiation is another problem, but other people have offered good
  suggestions for dealing with that.
