[PCR-1000] Windows WP home

Off subject but what flavor of linux is best now (ie redhat, slackware, ect...)?  I've been away from linux for a year or two.  
I agree...Windowz is for the birds but it looks pretty and it's what I use ( I try not to complain too much ).  The updates is paramount for 
security...each patch seems to be preceeded with a new virus/worm disaster (for me drive wipe and re-install).
