[PCR-1000] DSP Option

I have been enjoying my PCR-1000 for about a year now, and I confess I =
don't know what the DSP Option is exactly! I know it's "Digital Signal =
Processing," but what will it do for me that the PCR won't do already? =
And how do you hook it up? The ICOM Manual is, of course, silent on =
this.=20

I would appreciate any advice from experienced users.  Thanks.
