However...if you do not have the $160 to get it "retuned" by Icom...it's
better then a sharp stick in the eye...

I do not think it is a great idea to load the contents of another radio
to yours. The EEPROM contains calibration data. It directly effects
the receivers ability to tune correctly, and defines the receivers
sensitivity in all bands. If you have a receiver that is, by nature,
calibrated differently, and maybe in the upper tolerances of the freq
synthesizer, and load cal data from a receiver a couple of serial
numbers up or down, maybe at the lower end of the tolerance, what you
have is a receiver that is miscalibrated. Not necessarily the best mode
to operate in.
