Hello Graham,

  I had for a long time the service manual and Ex2099 but was unable to find the
  equipment needed to truly realign the receiver; I solved the problem by
  loading the average data from P. Masotta's program.

  BTW, in my case, apparently the trouble was given by a too high speed of the serial
  port: the latest beta of TalkPCR has the option to lock it at 9600.

  Lately, I had the idea to contact a local electronic school: a class and a
  teacher were glad to perform a "real life" drill on my PCR1K, under my
  supervision, using their wonderful test equipment.

  Maybe this "roundabout" could work for others.
