I guess you missed the heading at the top of the page "An Earnest Plea
to Mailing List Administrators."  It's too bad that all we've learned
from running mailing lists on the ARPANET/Internet over the last 20 
years is going to have to be re-discovered the hard way.

Sensible to you, perhaps.  Compare this the messages on other lists
which are private messages mistakenly sent to the whole list.
