[PCR-1000] PCR1K Serial

  Mine is 05195; purchased from a Ham Store in Tucson AZ in late 2000, it
has the DSP option.


  I also got the unit because I was living in India at the time and wanted
a reciever that was tiny and worked with (and travelled with) the laptop.
In all the hundreds of x-rays and inspections, no one ever so much as gave
it a second glance, whereas something with knobs and dials would have
required endless bi- and tri-lingual explanations...


  Maybe haranguing Icom at Dayton is beating a dead horse, but I'm going
to let them know that I don't appreciate their 'support' for the money I
spent, and that it is having an effect on my ( and others') future buying
decisions.

  Maybe I'll get lost in the noise/indifference; maybe it'll be the straw
that wakes the camel up, to mangle a metaphor.


  Now - back to the 'skins' project.  Number one is R-390, BTW. After
thrashing that out, the rest will be easy.
