[PCR-1000] Winradio v. R1000?

Been lurking here for quite a while and joined after getting my 'R1k and
retiring my first CCR, the SoftWave by Commfocus....anybody else buy one of
these? It had some amazing features and it predated the Icom by several
years. Lately, I've seen the WinRadio mentioned a few times. Has anybody in
here owned or compared both the Icom and the WinRadio? I bought the Icom out
of the (misplaced) sense of security that a "big name" manufacturer would
stand behind their product. However, after visiting the WinRadio site over
the years, I'd say that they have definitely outdone themselves in making
their different models user- and developer-friendly. Unfortunately, every
time I saw reviews of the Win radios, they never seemed to do very well in
the test phase. Also, the prices were always higher. Apart from price, is
there any reason to stay with the Icom?
